Our Engineers use thermal Imagers to assist engineers identify faults in the uninterruptible power supply system. This service is an advanced technology that accompanies our products. The thermal imaging cameras can be used to identify ‘hot spots’. It works on the principle that all materials emit electromagnetic radiation in the infrared region which can be detected by the thermal imaging camera. The radiation is presented in a readily usable form being shown as a colour scale from black/blue/purple being cold to orange/yellow/white for hot.
Thermographic inspection can be an effective method of identifying defects that would not be located by visual inspection and could pass undetected during normal discharge testing.
